Pastor Ken Korns
Men's Retreat
September 7 - 8, 2012
Ken Korns was reared on a dairy farm in Somerset county, PA. Due to kidney and heart problems he wasn't able to do hard work at the time, so he developed an interest in art and graduated from college with an art major. He taught art in high school for a short time, then went on to Bible college, later becoming the pastor of Calvary Bible Church of Ellerslie, MD. He pastored the church for 36 years and is now speaking and illustrating messages with chalk in various Bible churches.
Ken uses his chain saw for more than cutting firewood as he has done a variety of animal sculptures which he has displayed around his old fashioned split rail fence. Ken has enjoyed the out of doors as he has hunted Whitetail deer, turkey, mule deer and elk. He has enjoyed hunting in Colorado, Wyoming and bow hunting in Montana. He has owned several quarter horses throughout his life. He especially enjoyed riding with a pastor friend in the mountains near Cody, Wyoming. Ken loves the western states.
Ken has traveled to several different countries including; Israel, Panama, Mexico and Canada. Three of these countries were on mission assignments. His trip to the jungles of Panama in a single engine plane, preaching through an interpreter, walking jungle trails, eating monkey meat and experiencing culture shock was his favorite jaunt.
He has been married to Carole Jean (Pardew) Korns for 48 years and has one son (Brian) and two grandsons(Trevor and Trent)
Pastor Korns has been known as a simple, clear and practical teacher of the Word of God.
His favorite Bible verse is I.Cor. 15:58
  • General:The men's retreat is designed to be a time for men to come apart and be refreshed physically, spiritually and emotionally. Men may rent a cabin or bring a tent or RV on Friday evening, or join the activities on Saturday morning. On Friday evening there will be a snack provided. Breakfast will be provided Saturday morning for those that come on Friday evening. In addition, a full cooked meal will be provided Saturday noon for all those attending. Throughout the day on Saturday there will be several tournaments - fishing, archery, 22 pistol, and skeet. In addition, you will have the opportunity to use the camp's bungee run, obstacle course, blamzookas, and game tables. You will be challenged from God's Word three times - once on Friday evening and twice on Saturday. Why not come for a great time of food, fellowship, recreation, and challenges from God's Word.
